There are 12 stations in the classroom. Each station is numbered. Each station has
all of the materials you will need to investigate one aspect of weathering and erosion.
Each station also has a TASK CARD with instructions for completing the investigation. After completing all stations you will generate a wiki page summarizing your lab analysis and for home work you will revise and reply to at least three classmates pages.
Objective
E.SE.06.11 Explain how physical and chemical weathering lead to
erosion and the formation of soils and sediments.
E.SE.06.12 Explain how waves, wind, water, and glacier
movement, shape and reshape the land surface
of the Earth by eroding rock in some areas and
depositing sediments in other areas.
E.SE.06.13 Describe how soil is a mixture made up of weather
eroded rock and decomposed organic material.
E.SE.06.14 Compare different soil samples based on particle size
and texture.

Tasks:
1) Students will utilize their inquiry skills to navigate the 12 stations in the classroom and respond the the prescribed analysis questions. Afterwords they will reflect collaborate and edits their peers work prior to submitting their lab analysis.
Personalization/Differentiation
Strong students can offer help to groups with poor insight. Struggling students will benefit for peer edits pior to lab submitting. ESL students can utilize translation software available online.
Real-World Connection
This lessons real world application is applied as students manipulate their environment in order to illicit realistic analysis of their results.
Their peers/world on wikki
Analysis will be presented on wikki and made public to the community at large.
Assessment:
After students complete their peer reviews on wikki then they will submit their final analysis to me for grading.
Resources:
Science Lab & Computer Lab
Examples:
Links to teacher or student examples.
Reflection:
Reflect on the experience with specific details about the instructional outcome, pedagogy, tool effectiveness,
and student engagement. Include any student feedback about the activity.
